在英语写作中，我们会不可避免地遇到一些移行的问题。移行的基本原则是按照音节把词分开。应注意以下几点：

1. 单音节词不能移行，如dog就不可以移行，即使是字母较多的单音节词，如through等也不能例外。

2．缩略词如Mr.，Dr.， esp. 等不能和后面的名字或内容拆开移行。错误的例子为：Mr.Brown。 缩略的专用名词如U．K.，U．S．A等也不能拆开移行。

3. 度量衡单位不能分开移行。如；
